Why we loved Rio de Janeiro
Rio asks a lot of you: early hikes, late dinners, sand in places sand shouldn't be. But it gives back twice as much. This is the guide we wish we'd had on our first trip: enough structure to feel organized, enough slack to chase a sunset off-plan.
We split our week between the beach neighborhoods and the mountain viewpoints, built in two slow mornings, and saved the best restaurants for when we were too tired to think. Every recommendation in this guide is a place we actually went, and a place we'd go back to.
